Disney's Olaf with CMG

I'm sharing for Sketch it Out Thursday on the Crafty Maven Getaway today. After looking over the inspiration piece I knew immediately I'd use the new PhotoPlay Paper Summer Daydreams collection. It was a perfect fit for my Olaf photos so then I was off to find a sketch.

Focus On Sketches - Cherish

I hope you've been following along and enjoying my new series Focus On Sketches - 3 Ways or More. I'm up with the 3rd and final layout for June's sketch from Creative Scrappers Sketch #295. Don't forget you can play along with the sketch and win a fabulous Jillibean Soup prize.

This week we're looking at changing up the foundational pieces of the layout. If you look at the background you'll see multiple layers of paper cut into squares. I'm sharing how to do a watercolor background and layered digital die cut to take up the same amount of space but give a whole other look to your layout.

I'm also stretching out the tags to take in the space of the journalling. Still two tags but pulled apart to take up more space on the layout. The title remains in the same place.

Anna Marie with Process Video (Crafty Maven)

After a few weeks off it's sometimes hard to get back into your groove. That's when a sketch and inspiration piece can really help me make quick decisions. I started with this weeks inspiration piece from the Crafty maven Getaway.

 I then went to my papers and chose the first thing that I found from the color inspiration which happened to be Basic Grey typeset. A beautiful collection and fit the color and feel of the inspiration perfectly.

Next up I went through my challenge folder to find  a sketch and came across this one from Scrap Our Stash. I really liked it and was then ready to go find a photo to work with. Because I had a journal card I wanted to use I decided to only use one photo.

My Sonshine (Crafty Maven Getaway) Two Peas Throwback

This week on the Crafty Maven Getaway Youtube channel we're having a throwback to Two Peas in a Bucket Garden Girls. Most would think I would choose Shimelle and I really thought I was but I ran across this video by Paige Evans and changed my mind. I figure I talk about Shimelle enough and feature her quite often as my inspiration and so this was a nice little challenge for me.

Happy Moments with Process Video (Crafty Maven Getaway)

Today I'm sharing the companion page to the We Got Our Ears layout. There's a lot of discussion about doing one page layouts with one photo or multiple photos. It seems scrappers are pretty passionate of one or the other. I'm hoping to share my thoughts and maybe a happy medium for both sides.

I wanted to feature the one photo of my daughter with her ears and did that with the last layout We Got Our Ears but I still had 3 more photos from that day that I wanted to include so instead of shrinking them down to fit on one page or not including them I decided to put them on a companion page. I chose to still leave them the full 4x6 and fill the page. I didn't need space for journalling or title since it was on the first page. I did included a lot of embellishments that had wording that fit the story of the photos.

Hello peeps! Today I'm back at the Crafty Maven Getaway for Sketch it Thursday. You know I love my sketches. I found this great sketch with 4 photos all offset and knew it was what I wanted to use.
