From my family to you and yours we hope you have a wonderful Christmas with friends and family. I was blessed to have both kids home to celebrate Christmas a couple of weeks ago. It was a sweet time with family and now hubby and I will have a quiet Christmas Day at home together.
Be sure to come back on January 1st for an exciting announcement from me!
I've decided to jump on the December album bandwagon. I've always wanted to but we just don't do enough every day to make a very interesting album. In steps Shimelle's Journal Your Christmas Class. She gives prompts to journal past and present Christmases. This I can do!
Here's a little look at some of the product I decided to work with. I have a ton of Christmas product because I love it but I just don't use it up at the rate I buy it. Can you relate? LOL I decided to pull from my stash and just buy a few little things to perk it all up and give me my Christmas fix.
I'll also give you a look at how I'm organizing it all. Now if I could just figure out how to keep it this organized while I'm creating!
If you've thought about doing one I'd encourage you to check out Journal Your Christmas and if you've already started share your albums with me. I'd love to see!
I've gotten behind in my posting with all the holiday preparation and Black Friday shopping not to mention Cyber Monday! LOL Here's the first two layouts I've done with my starting points from Shimelle's Perfect Collection Class. If you missed the intro you can check it out here. Intro to My Process of Shimelle's Perfect Collection Class
For my first layout I did a classic L shaped design with a couple of photos. You can see the whole process here. Beautiful Process Video
For my second layout I kept with a central design so I could include the maximum photos. I got 4 on this one. Harah!!

Thanks to some awesome peeps I've dusted off a class I purchased from Shimelle a while back. Shimelle takes you through cutting up an entire collection of paper into various sizes and then putting together starting points or base pages. It was really quite intimidating but with a little help from my friends I chose the My Minds Eye Sweetest Thing collection and began cutting up.
Here's a look at the intro of things to come each friday on my Youtube channel.
With my cut up collection I created 6 single pages and 3 double pages. I then rounded up a lot of my stash for embellishing so that I'm ready to do some quick scrapbooking!
Each Friday I'll be back with a starting point and finish it up by adding photos and embellishments. Perfect Collection Playlist
The page you can find more info on Shimelle's The Perfect Collection Class on.
I've learned so much from Shimelle and give her credit for most of my growth as a scrapbooker. She has a ton of videos and classes sharing her wealth of knowledge. I'd love for you to support her by buying this class or any other one from her website to support her!
Today I have a fun layout I created all about how thankful I am for Facetime along with a new process video for it.
I used the Simple Stories We are Family line to document these photos of me and my son talking on Facetime. I'm so thankful for all the modern technology that allows me to stay in touch with my family. I don't know how I would bare it with out seeing and talking to my kids when they're so far away.
Today I have a layout and process video to share for todays Scraplift Saturday at the Crafty Maven Getaway. I'm paired up with Katty Miranda and we decided to scrap lift each other. Looking through her layouts she uses a lot of doilies and flowers so that was the first thing I decided to include. She also does a great series called Work It Wednesday where she creates a kit from her stash and works with it. I love working the same way so I dug a lot in my stash for this layout. We also had this beautiful inspiration piece to work with.
Here's the layout I created of my daughter creating some snowflakes from some stamped and embossed die cuts I had made. She was having so much fun she didn't want to glue them together so I was teasing her and she decided to try and hide from me under the table. LOL

Todays challenge I chose Nature so off to Pinterest I went to find some inspiration. It didn't take me long to find a bunch! I chose this fabulous pin with these adorable little critters made from fall leaves. How much fun!!
there's so many things you could do with this inspiration but here is what I came up with.
I chose the Pink Paislee Cedar Lane collection to work with. It is one of my all time favorite collections ever! I can't get enough of it!

I'm back with another challenge I'm hosting on the My Scraps and More forum. Be sure to hop over this weekend and join in on the fun! You'll have a full week to complete all the challenges and there are 18 in all so plenty to get you inspired!!
I love Disney and I love the Disneybounding pins your can find on Pinterest. They're full of great outfits you can wear inspired by Disney characters. This one really stood out to me and I thought it would be fun to use to inspire a layout.
I used the Pink Paislee Atlas collection and this fabulous chevron multi colored stripe. I thought it was a great paper to represent the stripes in Bert's outfit and bow.

This would make a perfect Christmas gift for a scrapbooker or new to scrapbooking since it's all inclusive! Or you may want to even get it under your tree!
Hello peeps! I'm back today with another layout using the new Sangria collection. I was inspired by a layout in the new Idea Book. I framed a piece of Colonial White cardstock with Eggplant cardstock and then used my stitching guide to stitch around the edges. It's a great effect!!
3x3 squares evenly spaced makes for a striking background and with the new complements it's a quick task to add embellishments.
Today I have a great layout inspired by a sketch at Scrap much. I created it using the new Cocoa Vanilla Life is Beautiful line from My Scraps and More. It's gorgeous!! I added some watercolor to the wood veneer to add a bit of color to the layout and love how it looks. I'm going to have to remember to do it more often. The large doily behind was a great base for all the beautiful embellishments in this collection.
Sometimes layouts just don't go as planned and sometimes you try to stretch and do new things that just don't work out. That's when you start again and go back to what you know and love. I started this layout 3 times before I was happy with it. I wanted it to be something I loved as much as the photo of my son with his black eye. LOL
Come along as I share my struggles and the final outcome
Looking to do a really quick double page layout? If you're short on time but want to scrap then grab a sketch and the Sangria collection and follow along with me.
I had these photos from my hubby's high school reunion I really wanted to get scrapped so I found a fabulous sketch then pulled my Sangria paper, complements, and assortments and I had them scrapped in no time.
Using 6x6 pads is a great way to get a sampling of all the paper in a collection as well as I love the smaller prints so you can really use a lot of different patterns on a page.
