Cricut Artiste Gift Card

Today I'm featuring another great gift card on the Artiste Cartridge. It's so awesome looking but super easy and quick to make up. The inside opens up to hold a gift card. I attached a label so you could write a little note inside.
I know you usually start with the front of the card but I really wanted to feature the uniqueness of the inside first.

Now onto the front of the card. I used our exclusive consultant stamp that we received at convention to decorate it. (It's not too late to Join My Team and come to convention this year in Disneyland and get your own exclusive stamp set!!)

I stamped the Howdy and then embossed it with silver embossing powder. The yellow details are colored in with our new Alcohol markers. I just realized i forgot to put the rhinestone on the spur. Oops!  This is a great little card for any cowgirl or cowboy you know!!

Disney's Cape May

Todays page is a quick one that I used up the end of some paper from a kit I got from Scrapbook Generation. I had lots of photos so I filled up the page with them.

Cape May is a delicious restaurant at the Beach Club Resorts on Disney property. We had breakfast there and it was soo good we went back for dinner. Yumm. Delicious buffet and breakfast includes characters. I've already shared the page with our character photos so if you're interested in them look through the rest of my Disney pages.

Be Our Guest

I love working with sketches and the best sketches come from Scrapbook Generation. This is a free sketch you can download from their store as well as the sketch being featured in their February  issue of Create magazines Reader Gallery. I decided to play along.

The papers are from My Minds Eye one of my favorite brands. Their papers are soft and elegant so it's very fitting for the photos I had from a production of Beauty & the Beast. The flowers are from Prima and again perfect for the them of the layout. I hand-stitched on the background which is something I'm stretching out and doing thanks to Allison from SG. It really adds a nice touch to layouts.

I hope you enjoy my layout and be sure to check out Scrapbook Generations new store and magazine.

Tulsa Zoo

Today I have a layout that I did for a Scrapbook Generation class I took with some online friends. I used some leftover CTMH Claire paper that I had and the embellishments go way back to my hand paper piecing days. Thank goodness for Cricut!!

B You tiful

Last year I started a class called Pretty Paper Party from Shimelle and although I didn't get it completed I learned a lot and did several layouts. This is one of them that I haven't shared yet.

The photos are some my hubby snapped of dd and me. I was horrified when I saw them, no make up and hair not made but I thought my dd was beautiful. One day she looked at them and I heard her voice about herself the same that I had thought about myself when seeing them which got me to thinking how we view ourselves and how others view us. When I look at the picture of her I see what a beautiful person she is inside and out and the relationship we have. I don't notice the fact that she doesn't have make up on so it made me look with fresh eyes at this photo. So much so that I scrapped them to remember the ordinary days and the love we share for each other. You don't need makeup and hairstyles to be beautiful; it's the YOU that make you beautiful. So I encourage each of you to BE YOU tiful today!!!

Organization Challenge - Cardstock Part 2

Are you ready to finish organizing your cardstock? First I pulled all my cardstock and started sorting according to color families and then from dark to light shades within a family. When I put them back I started with my Red family, then Orange, and so on.

I was then ready to start labeling my shelves. Remember that handy dandy labeler  I showed you yesterday? Well I ended up coming up with something else to use for this particular shelving. Since it's all my Close to my Heart cardstock for my classes and workshops I decided I would cheat a bit. I have several older Idea Books that have these lovely color charts in them for all of our colors. I trimmed them down and used for my labels. Now I have not only the name but also the color of the cardstock on the label. It's fabulous!

Isn't that pure loveliness?!! Have I told you how much I love paper?!! On the top shelf you may spot my paper samples as well. The one to the left is all our B&T patterned papers and the one to the right is all of our cardstocks. I use them quite often to come up with color schemes or when I'm working on projects to determine what will go well together.

Now I mentioned my other cardstock yesterday. I sort all of it in a separate cabinet. I sort it by color families and rainbow the same way but I have a section for all my Bazzil cardstock, a section for Recollections or Coordinations cardstock, then a section of shiny cardstock.

You may wonder why I separate it all. My reasoning is the Recollections and Coordinations cardstock is thinner and sometimes not the best for cutting in my cricut so I started a long time ago keeping it separate. It's easy for me to pick up a piece of paper and know if it will cut well or not but my kiddos play in my studio at times and I got tired of finding wasted cut up paper. Therefore I separated it and now they know where to find paper depending on what they want it for.

The shiny or bling cardstock is separate for obvious reasons. If you want bling it's easy to find. That about sums up all of my cardstock organization. I don't label any of this it's just coordinated by colors.

Now I'd like to hear your tips, how you store your paper, and even see a photo. Leave a link in the comment section and I'll be sure to check it out.

Next week we'll be tackling all those scraps! With having a cricut I keep all of my scraps and they've become a bit of a mess. I'll be sharing how I've tamed them.

Organization Challenge - Cardstock

With the new year I'm determined to finish organizing my studio and purge supplies that are taking up valuable real estate. Are you with me? I'm going to try and share at least once a week where I'm at and a tip to help you tame an area of your scrappy life. I'd love for you to participate with me by sharing your tips and even photos of your space along with what issues you face or how you've organized your area.

First up is cardstock! I love paper and cardstock is part of that obsession. I have a tower to store just my Close to my Heart cardstock and I've been wanting to sort it by the rainbow ROYGBP for any of you artsy scrappers out there. I've also wanted to label them. Of course I've been out of label tape for over a year now and never seem to have the number when I'm somewhere that carries it. Being in rural America it's not like I run out and get it on the milk run. I finally saved the info to my smart phone. Smart, huh?! I was able to pick some up and it's pink to boot!! How fun!!

This is the label maker I have and I suggest if you like to be organized invest in one. It is so worth the investment. You can pick one up for around $20 and up, up, up but really an inexpensive one will work.

You can also type labels up on your computer and print them off onto cardstock and then trim them to the size you want. Then you'll have to come up with how you'll attach them. You could use various methods depending on what your labeling. More of that when we get into labeling.

For now think about your cardstock and how you would like to organize it. Do you like the idea of by color family, do you sort by brand, size, or a myriad of other ways? I do a combination of all and will give you more details in the next couple of posts. I'll be back tomorrow to show you my CTMH card stock all organized and labelled.

Lovely Layout with CTMH Artbooking cartridge & stamps

I have been a busy scrapper this week trying to prep for an upcoming crop and to keep up with all goals this year which includes participating in several challenges. Today I'm working with two different challenges

My Scraps & More is a fabulous store I order from and they have lovely sketches along with sketch challenges. I decided to work with this weeks sketch 62. You can see it at the link.
 Here's the layout I created.

I've wanted to use the lace stamp set from the CTMH Artbooking Cricut set since I received it and this seemed like the perfect time. I cut the four pink squares with the Artbooking cart as well as the journaling spot and then stamped them with the coordinating stamp set. I'll have a list of all the products at the end of the post if you're interested in what else I used.

And some close ups of the details

I used the heart stamp and stamped a border that mimicked a scallop. Clever huh? Love the rosette ribbon unfortunately it's retiring this month.

I stamped everything with Cotton Candy. The butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch that I had punched from a recent organization that I'll be sharing in a post this coming week.

The bottom stitching I used the new Stitch Wonder stamp set shown below. It's great for those little touches to finish off a layout.

and of course no layout is complete without some bling so I added pink glitter gems.

Products used
C1564 Stitch Wonder Stamp set
z1807 Pink Glitter gems
CTMH Artbooking Cricut Cartridge
Z1800 Rosette Ribbon
Designer Ribbon (retired)
Dotty For You grey polka dot paper (retired)
CTMH Cotton Candy Cardstock
CTMH Cotton Candy Ink Pad
Martha Stewart Butterfly punch

The other challenge is from the Scrap Your Stash Challenge at scrappypedia where you pull a kit together from your stash. It was all pink and lovely so I had to participate!

Simply Stitch It

I love tools that make scrapbooking easier, quicker, but give them that WOW factor. I've had the original ruler from Close to my Heart and use it almost everyday so when they released the new stitching ruler I  knew I had to have it. I finally ordered it a few months ago and it's fabulous.
Allison from Scrapbook Generation continually inspires me with her stitching and has inspired me to do more of it on my layouts. Now I You can do stitching on my projects so quick and easy.
Check out Kristine in this video to see some great layouts using the stitching ruler and let me know what you think.
