CTMH You're Loved & Many Thanks

Hello everyone! Today I have two more cards that I created from the Wishes How To Book. Have  you gotten your copy yet? Don't wait too long. Only limited quantities left.

First up is a 3x3 gift card perfect to give with any gift or just to show your appreciation to someone. I used the Middle Ground sketch found on pg 19 of Wishes for this one. Again all the paper is from the Stella collection. I added some twine from the Paradise Collection and stamped the heart with a stamp from February's SOTM Thoughtful Tidings.

The second card today is made with all the same supplies. Isn't it fabulous  how you can get so many different looks from all the same supplies! I will be adding a wood button on top of the twine but they haven't come in yet. ;o) It will give that nice finishing touch to the card. I used the Long Layers sketch on pg 81 of Wishes for this card.

I love how all of the paper collections tell you what colors will work well with it and having the ink pads to match. By simply choosing a pattern from the How To Book, ink pads to match the color palette from the paper collection you can put together stunning, quick cards with so little effort! Just think how special that person will feel when you give them one of these cards.

If you missed the first two posts explaining how I designed these be sure to back up and read through them.

CTMH Hugged

Hello friends. I'm back today with the 2nd card I created using the techniques I shared yesterday. If you missed them be sure to go back and read through all the details of how I designed this set of cards. I hope it really helps you in the designing and getting started process which always seems to be the hardest part.

The first card was super simple although very cute so today I thought I'd share one that had a few more steps to it.

For this card I chose to use the City Scape sketch on pg 33 of the Wishes How To Book. For the sentiment I chose to cut the ticket the next size bigger to mat it. For the flower you could use one of our paper ones or any other embellishment. I decided to use a stamp from one of our new stamp sets Card Word Puzzle. I colored it and the leaves in with our coordinating markers. Instead of a simple strip of paper across the top I decided to make a ribbon embellishment from my paper. If you have the Wishes How To book you'll also notice I turned the sketch on it's size. That's the fabulous thing about sketches you can follow them almost exactly like in yesterdays example or you can turn them and change them up a bit using a few creative techniques like the paper ribbon.

Close To My Heart We Appreciate You

Hi Friends! For the next two weeks I'm going to be sharing a set of cards I created using the Wishes Idea Book. I wanted to show how easy it is to use the CTMH How To books and how quick you can make up several different cards. I'll share a little about my planning process in this post to hopefully help those of you that love to create but tell me you just don't know how to start. I have a secret for you though. Everyone starts with an idea sparked from something they've seen. I don't know anyone that just sits down and comes up with something totally original. Whether it's a sketch, a color scheme, a design or pattern, everything becomes inspiration for you to draw from when you sit down to create.

Today let me show you how to start with a sketch from CTMH's How To Book Wishes. I chose Wishes to work with and then I chose my paper. Stella is a new collection from CTMH and I've absolutely fallen in love with the colors and patterns so that is the one I chose. Each paper collection from CTMH will list the colors that match that collection so they take all the work out of creating a color scheme. Cocoa, Sunset, Lagoon, and Olive all match the papers exactly so I pulled those Ink pads. I then chose a stamp set.

Now that I have all my supplies ready I'm ready to start creating. You could go many directions from here. You could choose a card design and work from there or I decided to work from the stamp set and then find a card design.

I took my Colonial White paper and my CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and cut several of the shapes that coordinate with the stamps. The stamps tell me what size to cut each shape. Then I stamped the coordinating images with the different color of ink pads that are in my color scheme.

Now that I had all my images ready I opened up my Wishes How To Book and started looking for sketches that my images would look good with. Once you find the sketch the How To Book will tell you how many different colors or patterns of paper you need and the sizes to cut them. I chose the Right Away sketch found on pg 84.

This is a very simple sketch where I chose one color to cut my card from and then I needed another color for the strip. How simple is that? Then I have my sentiment. Of course you want to embellish to really give your card some wow factor. I love to ink and distress so I inked everything with my cocoa ink pad and then added some embellishments.

Join me over the next few days to see the other cards I created using all these same supplies and techniques. I had six cards designed and created in just a few hours with the help of CTMH's How To Books and coordinating products. CTMH really does make creating simpler, easier, faster!

Meeko 15th Birthday card

Hello friends! As many of you know our family is huge Disney fans and we just returned from visiting our son who is interning there so I decided with all the Disney projects I'll be creating I'd take a day to feature them each week on my blog. So welcome to Magical Mondays with Me! LOL

I know usually Mondays are anything but magical for many since it usually means returning to the work week but hopefully this will brighten your Monday up a bit especially if you're a disney fan like we are.  First up is Meeko.

I actually made this  a while back but I don't think I ever shared it so I thought I would today. It's a quick simple easle card that is so popular now days. There are a lot of tutorials out there in how to make them so I won't bore you with any of the details. I'll be happy to answer any questions though if you have them.

I love this card. I made it for my daughter's 15th birthday. She loves Meeko so I thought this was fun. Meeko was cut from the Happily Ever After cart and if you remember my post last week about hand paper piecing you'll understand how I can say this was a quick card. Haha

Here's a pic of us and Meeko on our recent trip to WDW. Aren't they cute?!

Disney Sorcerer Mickey Autograph Book

We recently returned from visiting our son at Walt Disney World and I was shocked to find out he was expecting an autograph book. I have always made them an autograph book but really didn't think it meant much to either of my kids. LOL That will teach me to think.

My son loves Sorcerer Mickey so I went online and googled for some images. Now it's been a long time since I did a hand paper piecing so I totally forgot how much work goes into one. It reminded me why I have invested so much into my cricut and cartridges. Of course by the time I finished I remembered all the little tricks to paper piecing. Unfortunately it was after I had done it the hard way.

I'll be mailing this off this week along with some Easter goodies. I sure hope he likes it. Here's a pic of him working at WDW that we took while we were there.

I'm so proud of him and all that he's accomplished. Disney has been a dream of his for a long time and it's wonderful to see the beginning of that dream coming true.

CTMH Stella Layout

This week it's  all about Spring Blooms at sweetsassydiva so I decided to do a layout with the new CTMH Stella papers, stamps, and canvas shapes. It was super quick to pull together using the CTMH Art Philosophy cart and canvas shapes. Let me show you how!

The large scalloped circle was cut with the Art Philosophy cart and then cut a couple inches off one side. If you're creating a two page layout use this piece on the 2nd page to tie them together.

I created the large flower by stamping the full image on colonial white then I stamped the petals using a variety of ink colors. All of the colors are listed below in the details. Just create a good variety and mix them all up for interest. I cut the petals out and then adhered them to the colonial white flower. You can curl them or pop dot them up for even more dimension. The small flower was created with a couple of petals then adding a button.

Add the green swirl canvas shapes around your pics and then add the flowers. Adding a couple of buttons adds interest and dimension to your layout. Of course I inked everything with cocoa ink. It's just not finished until I ink it. ;o)

What's Shakin?!

Last weekend when I was scrapping with my friends one of them had a card she'd made that I just loved so I had to totally scraplift it!! I hope you like it too.

She used the cart From My Kitchen and while I have that cart I decided to play with my Imagine and use Kate's Kitchen. I printed and cut the background papers as well as the salt and pepper shaker. I pop dotted the layers and used an old alphabet stamp to create the sentiment. I don't use my Imagine often enough but everytime I do I wonder why I don't use it more. It's so much fun!! Stay tuned for more cards made with it.

I found a great blog, Exploring Cricut, last week and decided to play along with their challenge, Food Frenzy this week. Be sure to check this blog out and play along too.

CTMH ANything is Possible Retake

I hope your week is off to a great start. I spent Sunday scrapping with friends and had a wonderful time. Everyone should have great friends to spend a relaxing day with just laughing and having fun. I worked on some cards I'm going to swap at this years CTMH convention. Does it look familiar?

I have a goal of making at least 50 and I got a really good start on them. I decided to make more of the card I shared last week since it was fairly quick but I thought it was so pretty. I don't have enough Stella paper so I used Roxie instead. I think it's great how different a card can look just by switching up the papers.

Here's a pic of the two together.

Today is a card I created using the new CTMH Stella paper, CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge, and the CTMH March stamp of the Month.

I cut the top note, scalloped circle and circle all from the Art Philosophy cartridge. The cartridge makes it so quick and easy to make impressive cards by matching up the shapes to CTMH stamps. It doesn't get any easier!!

Here is the sketch I followed. I love mojo sketches! If you haven't used them you should definitely check them out.
