Scrap Stash Busting

I recently went to a weekend crop and since I didn't have a lot of time to prep I just grabbed up some bags of scraps left from my kits and some older photos. I ended up getting a lot done and best of all I finished off a lot of collections creating layouts I love.

I thought I'd just do a quick share of a few of them.

This one is some of my leftover Cocoa Vanilla Made of Awesome collection and I still have more left. I might have ordered quite a bit of it. I just love their colors.

This was a quick one I did with a 6x6 pad of Fancy Pants Good Fellow collection that was in the Shots of Life kit from the ScrapRoom. I may still go back and do some stitching on it but for now it's good.

And last this one using the Jillibean Soup Mushroom Medley collection. I think I've polished it off as well. Just a few stickers and very small scraps that went into my scrap bucket.

It feels good to get some older photos documented and some of my scraps used up. I'd love to know if you hang onto scraps and what size is too small. It was a great discussion at the crop. I keep them together until I can't complete a layout with them and then they go in a scrap bin I pull from when I'm creating. If it gets really small and it's not a favorite it goes into the trash but not until then.

Shine Bright (CreativeScrappers)

It's October 1st and the temps are changing outside along with the colors of the trees. It also means it's time for a new FREE sketch from Creative Scrappers. Cocoa Vanilla is our sponsor this month and I had fun playing with some of their cut files for this layout.

I used the fabulous Saturday collection from AC that was in my September ScrapRoom kit. I thought the camera print was perfect for the photos of my daughter and some of the princesses. The embellishments were all cut files from Cocoa Vanilla. I backed them with some of the patterned paper and pop dotted them up.

Be sure to hop over the Creative Scrappers to grab the free sketch and play along.

Love (Free Cut File)

I have a beautiful layout I did a couple of weeks ago for Valentine's Day. I grabbed a free file from the Paper Issues store. Yes that's right! There are a lot of free files for you in the store.

I cut it out of white cardstock and then went through my scrap bin looking for pink papers with a touch of aqua. As you can tell I had plenty. LOL

Once I got the pie shapes backed I took it to my sewing machine and made some stitches through it and around my layout. Then I grabbed some love embellishments and quickly finished it up.

Happy (Shimelle's Perfect Collection)

Hello scrappy friends! I'm back today with another episode of Shimelle's Perfect Collection and one of my starting points. Sorry there's been a gap but with the holidays and working on my December album this got shoved to a back burner.

I started with a classic full background of two half sheets of paper divided down the middle. You can do so many things with this back ground as well as turn it where it's vertical instead of horizontal for different orientation of photos.

I had fun with this little printed embellishment to help complete my title and add some interest to all the straight lines in this layout.

I added in some circle embellishments to each cluster to soften the lines as well. Including some enamel dots and sprinkled mist.

If you've missed any of the other layouts or my supplies be sure to check them out.

Shine (CMG Scraplift)

Today Sara and I are up on the Crafty Maven Getaway for Scraplift Saturday. We are both big fans of Nancy Damiano so decided to lift her. This is a layout I've had pinned for a long time. I just loved the diagonal background and pops of red that drew your eye around the page.

And this is the inspiration piece this week.

Now for my layout. I used the Jen Hadfield paper for my background. I just love that floral and wood grain.

Happy Memories with Process Video (MSAM Pinspirational Crop)

This weekend I'm hosting 3 challenges on the My Scraps and More forum for our Pinspirational Crop. I'd love to have you come over and play along with us. There's going to be lots of fun and prizes!!

Here's a look at the mood board I created to inspire you and me to create a layout.

And here's the layout I created.

I used the gorgeous Life is Beautiful collection from Cocoa Vanilla Designs. I just love all the sweet soft colors and they were perfect for my photos of my surprise Birthday lunch at Via Napoli's in the Epcot World Showcase.
