Focus On Sketches: Hole in 1

Today we're working with the June 2016 Free sketch from Scrapbook Generation again.

This time we're going to do a single page again but we're going to include all the elements only smaller.

By cutting the pictures down I could easily get all of the elements on to one page. Since the photos were older and a sequence they were perfect to crop down and really get in close.

Here's a look at the process

Focus On Sketches: SDC Good Times

Today we're working with the June 2016 Free sketch from Scrapbook Generation again. This time we're going to stick to the sketch fairly closely and just change up some of the elements.

Instead of a long title with a banner above it I made a large banner of the whole title from the Flower Market cartridge. I also added some more embellishing with it. Instead of a small photo and journaling block I combined them together into one bigger journaling block from a 3x4 card to hold all of my journaling.

Focus On Sketches: Oh Happy Day

Today is the final layout with Jana Eubanks sketch. I've had a wonderful time working with it and hope you've been inspired. Be sure to check out her work. She's one of my all time favorite scrappers!

For today I wanted to show even though a sketch calls for horizontal photos you can easily change most up for vertical or vice versa. Sometimes I think we get stuck in our thinking and need a nudge to think outside the box.

I grabbed supplies from my stash and a few newer things. It feels great to use up things I love but have been hanging on to for way too long.

If you want to catch up on any of the previous Focus On Sketches here are some links to check out.

I'm sharing for Sketch it Out Thursday on the Crafty Maven Getaway today. After looking over the inspiration piece I knew immediately I'd use the new PhotoPlay Paper Summer Daydreams collection. It was a perfect fit for my Olaf photos so then I was off to find a sketch.

Here's a look at the process.

Focus On Sketches: On An Adventure

I'm so excited to be back this week with another layout from the Focus On Sketches.  Last we looked at stretching and expanding a sketch to go across the entire page. This week we're looking at squishing it together and making a very linear sketch into a fun free flowing layout.

A look at the process and the idea of stretching a sketch.

This time around i'm sharing turning the sketch 180 degrees but keeping the elements in the same place. I did swap out the photo and journaling spot for one bigger photo since I didn't have a lot of journaling for this photo.

Be sure to come back next Thursday when I'll show you how to expand your sketch!!

And some close ups

Focus On Sketches - Cherish

I hope you've been following along and enjoying my new series Focus On Sketches - 3 Ways or More. I'm up with the 3rd and final layout for June's sketch from Creative Scrappers Sketch #295. Don't forget you can play along with the sketch and win a fabulous Jillibean Soup prize.

This week we're looking at changing up the foundational pieces of the layout. If you look at the background you'll see multiple layers of paper cut into squares. I'm sharing how to do a watercolor background and layered digital die cut to take up the same amount of space but give a whole other look to your layout.

I'm also stretching out the tags to take in the space of the journalling. Still two tags but pulled apart to take up more space on the layout. The title remains in the same place.

Here's a look at more of an explanation of how to expand your sketches for more looks.
