Tilda needs a Hug

This is the card I made hubby for Valentines Day. She is Tilda wants a hug from the Magnolia Collection. She actually had holly tied on her pony tails but I tied pink tiny bows to put over them. The banner is cut with my cricut and Birthday Bash. I spray glittered and inked it to add character and depth. I printed the I and U on the computer. The ric rac was from my stash of trim my mother gave me from her sewing stuff.

I think she turned out gorgeous and hubby loved her pink and all because it reminds him of me. lol

Mini Tilda's

One of my lovely swap friends sent me some mini Tilda's stamped so I could try them out. I was really intimidated at first because they were so small but in the end I found out they're very quick to do up. I did these one night while watching  a show with hubby. 

I'm sorry the photos are so bad. You can click on them to enlarge them if you can't see them well enough. I really need to find a new camera I think. The pictures just keep getting fuzzier.

 I added some sparkle to these two Angel Tilda's wings and halo. I can't wait to make them up on a tag or card.

 I used the same sparkle for bling on this Mermaid Tilda. It was such fun to color  her fin. I just went with the lightest colors I had and went from red to blue working my way through the color wheel. I haven't decided what I'm going to do with her yet.

Well I hope you enjoyed my peek into some of the coloring I've done lately. Hopefully you'll see them made into projects soon. lol

Wicked Tilda

I made very special cards for my kids birthday cards this year. They have been wanting to see the Broadway Show Wicked and we surprised them with tickets! I couldn't resist using my Tilda's as Glenda and Elphaba.

I used Spellcaster Tilda as Glenda for the front of my card. I colored her with my copics and blinged her up with a glitter pen and rhinestones. The edge was punched with an EK Success border punch that I received from one of my awesome swap friends.

Here's a close up of Miss Glenda the Good Witch.

 On the inside I used Witch Tilda as Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West. I used a papertrey ink stamp for the sentiment using versamark and then used green embossing powder.  The Wicked was cut with my cricut and Storybook.

And here's a close up of Elphaba. I was a little afraid to try and make her flesh green but I think it turned out fabulous! I hope you enjoy my little spurt of creativity with my Tilda's. My kids were definitely surprised and we're all excited to see the play next month.

Happy Father's Day Captain Edwin

Here's a quick card I put together for my hubby for Father's Day. I just received Capt Edwin and couldn't wait to use him. I also colored and used Tilda with Jolly Roger on the inside of the card. Magnolia Stamp Lovers
is having a challenge for Father's Day so I entered it there.

The striped paper is from Basic Gray. The treasure map and treasure chest is cut from Paper Doll Dress UPs. I colored everything with my copics and distressed with my cat eye inks.
SimonSays is having a pirate challenge so I entered there as well.

Cupcake Easle Card made with the cricut and Tilda

Happy Birthday Tilda with letter

Here's is the adorable Tilda with letter. I colored her with my copic markers and decided to try my hand at making a tri-fold card.

I really love how it turned out and how the card slides out of the envelope.

Happy Birthday Cupcake Tilda

Hello everyone! I've been wanting to make a shaped easle card and finally got one done thanks to Magnolia Down Under's challenge. I designed it on my Gypsy and the Doodlecharm cart.

The icing is embossed with my cuttlebug and the Dvine Swirl folder. I wanted to recreate the pleated look of a cupcake bottom so I used the distressed stripe folder for it. I think it turned out fabulous. Of course you have to have some bling so I used stickles on all the swirls.

I colored Dinner Tilda with my copics and sat her on a piece of twill ribbon from Lil Davis Designs.

The Happy Birthday is a Studio G wood rubber stamp from the $1 Michaels bin. All the swirls were a perfect match for the swirls on the cupcake to tie it altogether.

I have fallen in love with Magnolia stamps and have been asked a lot of questions about them since hosting the image swap so I thought I'd do a few posts on where you can purchase the stamps and embellishments that you see on a lot of Magnolia cards.

One more option is to join the quarterly stamp club from Magnolia. This is how I started and I'm so glad I did. 

It's a package of stamps that you pre-order. They give you a sneak peak but you do not know what you are receiving until you get them. It's usually 6-7 Tildas and Edwin and then some accessories in various sizes. They sell at a discounted rate (about $53 + shipping). They only come in rubber, no EZ Mount. After the kits are mailed out the stamps are available for purchase individually.

You can also subscribe for the year and receive 4 kits for about $192.00 + shipping. Either way it's a great deal. You can see the spring 2010 kit here.

Midsummer Tilda

This may be my favorite one yet of the new stamps. This card turned a little shabby chic and I'm loving it.

The paper is from the Basic Gray line Lemonade and I really think I need to get some more of it. I inked everything up with my cat eye inks and distressing inks. Of course stickles on the headband and a little on her pinafore. She's colored with copic markers and I promise when I get more I will list the colors I use but for now I mix so much because I'm just starting out it wouldn't do anyone much good. The pink strip was punched with a Martha Stewart punch along both sides.

The flower is cut from Forever Young and my cricut with a pearl glued to the center. I tied a charm from the piece of ribbon and called her done.

Tilda with Bee

I colored another Tilda with a bee because I had this little log I had cut from my cricut and Pooh cart. I thought she'd be adorable sitting on it. It's not as fancy as some of my cards but I think it's nice enough.

I tore and inked the edges of my paper and faux stitched around them. The little flower is a metal brad from Karen Foster collection. The paper is from the Basic Gray Lemonade collection and Daisy D's.

Lady Tilda

I've been having a great time coloring my new Magnolia images from the Spring Club. I absolutely love all the images but am bummed because I didn't receive the Tilda with apple. I've contacted Magnolia so hopefully they'll respond soon.

Well on to today's card. I colored her with my copics and added some bling with stickles. I used my cricut again for the following cuts;
scalloped oval - Storybook p.49 then embossed w/the cuttlebug
leaves - Joys of the Season p.68
flowers - Forever Young p.68
I really enjoy my cricut and it's great to be able to use them with my Magnolia stamps. If you haven't tried I encourage you to.

The pearls are from Queen & Co. The patterned paper is K&Co from my stash. I stitched it onto a piece of purple cardstock. The flowers and ribbon was distressed with Tim Holtz distressing ink. I wet the flowers then sculpted and dried them to shape I wanted.

On the inside of the card I used one of the dragonfly stamps and punched it out and then punched a scalloped circle to mat it with.

Tilda with Bike Happiness Card

I'm so excited I received an order of copic markers and paper today. So of course I colored another Tilda  and couldn't wait to put her together. I colored her with my copics and sponged the background with some blue and green ink for the sky and grass. I really like the effect it gave, suttle but that finishing touch. I used a green marker to put in a few blades of grass. All the paper is from K & Co and is from a long time ago.

Khaki Tilda With Love

I've finished my second Tilda but struggled a lot with this one. I'm still not 100% pleased but can't think of anything else to do so here she is.

I colored her with my copics and used Basic Grey's Fusion line of papers to complete the card. The scalloped oval was cut with my cricut and the Storybook cart. The apple was a miscellaneous stamp that I cut out and popped up in her hand. I had the apple in her lap but my daughter asked me why the apple was suspended in air so I moved it to her hand. I'm still not sure what I could do to make her look like she's sitting.

I cut the oval and then around her legs to make her look like she was sitting in it. While I had my sewing machine out from the other card I decided to stitch around the base. I really like the look of sewing on cards. It adds such a nice touch.
