Chantilly Birthday Cards

The new year brings new projects and sprucing up the place a bit. I'm cleaning out my photos and realizing there are a lot of projects I've not shared so I'm going to be throwing them up on the blog in between design team assignments and current projects. I hope you enjoy.

How about some Birthday cards? This was a workshop on the go that is perfect in so many color schemes and papers. You could recreate them with any stamp set and your paper stash. I love to use scraps to make up a batch of cards and these designs are perfect for scraps.

Life With You MSAMS challenge

Today im working with a sketch for the My Scraps and More Sketch blog. Be sure to check it out and then enter your own layout for a chance to win a fabulous prize.

I changed the sketch just a bit and instead of using four small photos I used two 3x4 photos. This sketch is quite different from my normal style but I love how it turned out and it was perfect for these photos of my husband and myself. My hubby had went out to cut trees down and he's notorious for not wearing safety glasses or if he does they're on top of his head not over his eyes. He text me this pic to let me know he was wearing them. LOL. I text him back a pic to show him his wife was very happy.

Hey There Handsome and Process Video

Todays layout is for my first assignment with the My Scraps and More Design Team. I'm so excited to be a part of this fabulous design team and the My Scraps and More Store. This layout is all about my sons second internship with Walt Disney World. He was assigned to be part of PAC which is Parade Audience Control. While he look dashingly handsome in his costume I had to beg him to send me a pic so I could scrap it. I love the red bow tie which of course was his least favorite part. LOL

Fun Day & Process Video

Today I'm working with the fabulous new Hopscotch collection from Close to my Heart. It's a fun paper collection with lots of color and whimsy.

I took my layout to my sewing machine and stitched a zig zag stitch along the borders and then some straight stitching over the bracket.

I finished off the embellishing with enamel dots and some left over resin pieces from the Skylark Assortment.

I'm participating in another My Scraps and More 12 Days of Christmas Challenge #2 using a symmetrical design. That's a tough one for me but I think it turned out pretty good. There's still time to join in the challenges so be sure to check them out.

CTMH - Grateful Bookmarks

I know this is way past thanksgiving but I just realized I never posted it. I was waiting until all my scrap club participants received theirs. You could totally do the same technique with lots of shapes and being grateful is always in style. ;o)

I was inspired by Danielle Flanders Dipped Die Cuts post. She made tags that were gorgeous so I decided to take CTMH products and do something similar.

I used Cricut Craft Room and the CTMH Artbooking cartridge to create my bookmarks with the word grateful cut out of it. I then created a slightly larger shape for a shadow. The leaves are from the same cartridge and one is from A Child's Year.

I used some retired leftover papers to cut the leaves from then used versa mark ink to rub along the edge, dipped in gold embossing powder then heat set. Aren't they lovely? I just love the gold dipped edges. Found some buttons from my button jar and sewed it onto two leaves then tied a piece of twine around the stems.

I used a brown pen to do stitching around the bookmark and then they were ready to adhere all the layers together.

These are going to some special ladies that I have the privilege of scrapping with every month. They are my best friends and biggest supporters of my CTMH business. I'm so grateful each time I get to spend time with them and do the thing we all love to do.

Love This with Process Video - CTMH Hopscotch

Todays double page layout is made with Close to my Heart's new Hopscotch collection. It was super quick and easy to pull together thanks to the fabulous sticker collection that goes with it.

These were pictures from helping our son move out of his apartment and after we had everything packed up we grabbed some lunch. Unfortunately hubby's cheese fries were extremely messy and they had not included silverware. We had no clue which box held the silverware or where they were at so dear son proceeds to try and teach hubby how to use two straws as chopsticks. It was hilarious but eventually he did get the fries eaten.

Merry & Bright layout with process video

Its time for another free sketch from Nuts about Sketches. This week is a single page layout and I decided to use a large star that I had cut in my stash for the background instead of the smaller circles.

The title is cut on my new silhouette. I'm lovin it! Audrey shared a free cut file on My Scraps and More and once I played some I went straight to it to try. It cut beautifully. Be sure to grab the free file if you haven't already. 

I decided to keep the background soft and pretty much all tone on tone so that my son in his red Mickey Christmas outfit would be the center of attention. I added three red brads to help tie it all in and draw even more emphasis to him. 

Here is the process video for it and I included a bonus lesson on sewing on your layouts I've had several questions and while I'm no seamstress I thought I'd share how I do it. I hope it helps those that were wanting more information. If you have mores questions just let me know and I'll try to help.
